ECRC Somerford Park Camp 21st - 23rd May 2010
The Venue
Set in beautiful Cheshire countryside, conveniently located near the M6. The equestrian centre boasts extensive facilities including stabling, parking, indoor school, numerous outdoor arenas with showjumps, and an extensive cross-country course catering for complete novices to intermediate eventers. There is also a 6.5-mile farm ride incorporating numerous jumps and even a river crossing! At camp you will have access to the pavilion with a kitchen, dining facilities and modern showers and toilet area. There is now also a tack store on site!
Somerford Park is located on the A54, 3 miles south of Holmes Chapel and 2 miles north of Congleton.
Accomodation/Stabling/Food
The camp includes stabling for your horse from Friday lunchtime to Sunday. There is a shavings bed provided. You will need to provide your own hay and hard feed as well as buckets and nets and mucking out equipment.
Accommodation is either in your horsebox/trailer or a tent. You can even bring your own caravan if you have one. Everyone camps on a field adjacent to the stables.
Pat who is a fantastic cook will again provide catering! If you are a vegetarian please let me know. You will be expected to bring your own cutlery, plates, and glass/mug and there will be a rota for everyone to help out in the kitchen at some point. Meals included in the cost of camp are Friday evening meal, Saturday breakfast, lunch, BBQ dinner and Sunday breakfast and lunch. There will be free access to coffee/tea making facilities and soft drinks will be available. If you have a guest for the weekend (non-rider) they may be catered for at an additional £?? for the whole weekend or £? for the BBQ only. Children are welcome but must be supervised at all times. Food for children under 5 years are free of charge, over 5’s is £?? for the weekend.
