Dress
Open Shows -( National rules apply for each discipline.)
9.1. Protective headwear complying to current BHS rules, duly adjusted and fastened must be worn at all times when mounted.
9.2. Correct riding  or hacking jacket.  Only to be removed at the discretion of the judge and only if a light shirt( with long sleeves) with a tie or stock is worn underneath.
9.3. Light shirt with tie or stock.
9.4. Light coloured Jodhpurs only.
9.5. Gloves must be worn in dressage
9.6. Correct long or short riding boots. Leather gaiters may be worn. No Chaps are permitted.
9.7. Spurs must not be of a severe design with necks no longer than 3cms. With curve directed downwards.
9.8. No nose ring, ear rings etc.
9.9. Body protectors to BHS  current standard.
9.10. No ponies under 14.2hh are allowed to compete unless cleared with Committee  first.
9.11 Grooms must dress safely  i.e no open toed shoes etc.
9.12. Only the rider competing or booked on rally/clinic etc may ride the horse at any time during ECRC or Area events                                                                           9.13.  No lungeing allowed.                                                                                  8.17. All equines taking part in any Riding Club event must hold a valid vaccination certificate which undeniably relates to that Equine, completed, signed and stamped on each line by a veterinary surgeon who is not the owner of the animal Details of when vacs need to be done are on website and in BRC rulebooks
8.19. Children under the age of 12 attending any Riding Club event must be supervised at all times by an adult other than the member competing or taking part in the event.  Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
8.20. Members attending all  events must show respect for the facilities being provided.  Members and their guests must be bound by the constraints imposed by the hosts and leave the premised clean and tidy
8.21. The rules for all Riding Club Competitions will be those of the British Horse Society Riding Clubs unless  specifically stated otherwise. ECRC showjumping competitions run to BSJA rules whilst Area SJ Comps run to BRC rules, it is the members responsibility to acquaint themselves with the various rules.
8.22. Members attending all rallies and events must take reasonable steps to keep their horse under control.  Members must take care and observe normal rules and conventions when working in before an event.  Horses must not be left unattended tied to boxes/trailers nor lunged without prior supervisor consent.
8.23 Complaints at competitions should be made to the Supervisor who will bring the matter to the attention of the Committee.
