Somerford Park Camp Booking Form 2012

     

2 days of lessons and socialising for all levels of horse and rider. Included in the cost is 2 lessons on Saturday and a cross-country lesson on Sunday/ farm ride plus all your food for the weekend (Friday evening (Indian banquet), 3 meals on Saturday including a BBQ in the evening, Sunday breakfast and lunch), bedding and stable for your horse. We are using the facilities at the new complex on the cross-country field.

Whether you want to improve, have fun or have intensive training give it a go you will not be disappointed. Deposit by 31st March and if we have more than 17 on the camp (max 26) the final price will be reduced!

The Venue

Set in beautiful Cheshire countryside, conveniently located near the M6. The equestrian centre boasts extensive facilities including stabling, parking, indoor school, numerous outdoor arenas with showjumps, and an extensive cross-country course catering for complete novices to intermediate eventers. There is also a 6.5-mile farm ride incorporating numerous jumps and even a river crossing! At camp you will have access to the new pavilion on the cross country site with a kitchen, dining facilities and modern showers and toilet area. There is now also a tack store on site!

Somerford Park is located on the A54, 3 miles south of Holmes Chapel and 2 miles north of Congleton.

 
Accomodation/Stabling/Food

The camp includes stabling for your horse from Friday lunchtime to Sunday. There is a shavings bed provided. You will need to provide your own hay and hard feed as well as buckets and nets and mucking out equipment.

Accommodation is either in your horsebox/trailer or a tent. You can even bring your own caravan if you have one. Everyone camps on a field adjacent to the stables.

You will be expected to bring your own cutlery, plates, and glass/mug and there will be a rota for everyone to help out in the kitchen at some point. Meals included in the cost of camp are Friday evening Indian buffet, Saturday breakfast, lunch, BBQ dinner and Sunday breakfast and lunch. There will be free access to coffee/tea making facilities and soft drinks will be available. If you have a guest for the weekend (non-rider) they may be catered for at an additional £45 for the whole weekend or £12 for the BBQ only. Children are welcome but must be supervised at all times. Food for children under 5 years are free of charge, over 5’s is £20 for the weekend.

Tuition

The cost of camp includes tuition on Saturday and Sunday; a dressage lesson, showjumping lesson and cross-country lesson or farm ride. There will be additional lessons on Friday afternoon from 2pm in dressage and showjumping at an additional cost of £18 per person per lesson. 

On the Sunday you may either have a cross-country lesson or go on the farm ride. Should you wish to do both please indicate on the booking form and enclose an additional £17 per person ( this may increase if Somerford put their prices up I will let you know if it does change!). You may wish to use the farm ride on the Friday afternoon, again indicate this on the form and enclose an extra £17.

Lessons will be in small groups of about 4 persons working at a similar level; novice, intermediate or advanced. 

Instructors

The trainers we use are all well seasoned and approachable, check the website for updates as I book them!    

Cost

Total cost for rider/horse is £175 each. This includes stabling and bedding, all riders food and non-alcoholic drinks, dressage, showjumping and cross-country lesson or farm ride on Saturday/sunday,  use of pavilion (showers and toilets) and a commemorative rosette.
