The membership year runs from 1st October to 30th September to tie in with British Riding Clubs
but you can join at any time during the year. New members joining between 1st August and 30th September will be granted membership
until September 30th of the following year.
Please
Note: For a member to be eligible to compete at any BRC Area 20 Championships in any discipline, subscriptions
must be received before the end of March that year.
Membership shall be available to any person having reached the age of 18. Family membership is restricted to 2 adults (18 years and over) living at the same address. Only one
newsletter may be claimed by family membership.
Included
in your membership is the BRC Public Liability Insurance which is valid whilst participating in any Riding Club activity.
This does not include travelling to and from the event. Details of this, together with the quarterly
newsletter, events list, membership card(s), and a copy of the Club's constitution will be forwarded upon receipt, and
acceptance, of a completed membership application form and payment.
It is a condition of the club that information
will be entered onto the club's computer database. Such information is used solely by the club for administration purposes,
however, member's names, addresses and telephone numbers have to be passed to the BRC office for both affiliation and
insurance purposes. It is a condition
of membership that all members attend at least one, occasionally two, half-day help sessions per membership year. Without such help the club would cease to function, and there would not be such an extensive
programme of events. They are also a good way of meeting fellow members and seeing what goes on 'behind the scenes'. ECRC will inform you when you are needed. Choosing dates in advance helps you avoid duties
on days when you want to compete. If this does happen to clash it is NOT a good enough excuse to avoid the help session. Attendance
points for the league placings will be given to those either on duty, or competing in Area 20 events which fall on the
same day as league competitions. These will be an average of the last 3 calendar month competitions. Extra
help days will be rewarded by a 'free entry' voucher into any club dressage or showjumping competition.
ENTRIES FROM MEMBERS WHO FAIL TO FULFIL THEIR HELP DAY MAY BE REFUSED, AND MEMBERSHIP
WILL BE SUSPENDED FOR 30 DAYS. THE SUSPENSION WILL BE LIFTED ONCE THE MEMBER HAS CONTACTED THE HELP DAY CO-ORDINATOR AND BOOKED
ANOTHER DATE. FAILURE TO CARRY OUT THIS RE-BOOKED DATE WILL RESULT IN TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP.
