Information from your committee:
We have been working on the way we work as a committee for our club: they include Being Supportive, Inclusive, Approachable, Encouraging and Welcoming.
We want to encourage participation and competition at all levels and for everyone to feel valued in a friendly ECRC ‘community’, even if you don’t always have a horse !
We want to ‘ride together’ ‘have fun together’ and ‘compete together’ and welcome any suggestions for how we can develop our club together.
People Update:
During 2025 we saw Sandra Zachary retire from her role as Chair of ECRC –
and we remain grateful for the enormous impact she had in our club during over
the last 15 years as chairperson.
We also said a big thank you and best wishes to Linda Webster as she retires from our committee. Again, a long-standing and much-valued member of ECRC and the committee in various roles, Linda will now concentrate on attending our competitions as a supporter, helper or dressage judge!
Both Sandra and Linda remain members and a big part of our club in 2026 and beyond.
We sadly lost ‘one of our own’ in 2025 – Sandra Parry – a much loved and highly respected member of the club and committee. Sandra had competed at a very high level show jumping against some of the national greats and brought this extensive knowledge and experience to her role as SJ supervisor providing invaluable advice and encouragement to our members. She remains in our
heart and the Sandra Parry Achievement Award will now be presented annually
to the horse and rider combination with the most SJ league points in the club
competition year.
Achievements:
At our AGM we recognised those who have achieved success in 2025 whether at Dressage or SJ , at our club competitions or at Area with lovely ‘Welsh’ themes rosettes and new individual trophies.
Please review the leagues and let’s celebrate with them.
But also – let’s celebrate every person who was involved in our Club in 2025, who achieved something with their horse – or themselves and enjoyed it ( hopefully! )
Social Events:
Last year we organised 2 Camps at Somerford , A Mini ODE , A Charity Fun-ride
and a Gin-tasting Night !
This year we will do even more – watch this space for dates ! – and any suggestions
welcome.
